You know those days where you actually find a matching pair of socks on the first try? Or when you hit every green light on the way to an appointment you’re already five minutes late for? In the moment, I’m always tempted to do a little victory dance and shout, “Man, I am so lucky!”
But then I catch myself. Because if I’m being real with you guys—and I always try to be—luck has very little to do with how I’ve made it this far without accidentally setting my kitchen on fire or losing my mind.
Shifting Focus from Random Luck to Infinite Grace
I’ve realized something lately: I’m not lucky, I’m blessed. Now, before you think I’ve suddenly become a poised, perfect saint who wakes up at 5:00 AM to meditate, let me clarify. My life is still a beautiful, slightly disorganized mess.
But the difference is that I’ve stopped attributing the “good stuff” to random chance or the alignment of the stars. Everything I have, every “phew, that was close” moment, and every unexpected win is 100% because of God’s grace and favor.
Navigating Life’s Disorganized Messes
Let’s talk about grace for a second. If you’re like me, you probably need a double dose of it before your first cup of coffee. Grace is the reason I can laugh at myself when I trip over a flat surface in public. It’s the safety net that catches me when I’ve made a choice that… well, let’s just say it wasn’t my brightest moment.
I used to think that “favor” meant everything would be easy. I thought it meant I’d never have a bad hair day or a bank account balance that made me squint in disbelief.
But I’ve learned that favor isn’t about having a perfect life; it’s about having a perfect Presence in the middle of a messy life.
It’s that internal “nudge” that tells me to be patient when I’m stuck behind someone going 20 mph in a 40 mph zone. It’s the random check in the mail or the friend who texts at the exact second I’m feeling overwhelmed. That’s not a coincidence, and it’s definitely not “luck.” That’s a Father who knows exactly what Tina needs, even when Tina is being a handful.
The Distinct Difference: Luck vs. Blessing
Luck is fickle. Luck is “maybe I’ll win the lottery, maybe I’ll get a flat tire.” It’s random. It doesn’t care about you.
But blessing? Blessing is personal.
When I look at my family, my friends, and even the hard lessons that knocked the wind out of me, I see a pattern. I see a hand guiding me through the dark rooms until I find the light switch.
Defining Your Divine Alignment
- Luck says: “I happened to be in the right place at the right time.”
- Favor says: “I was placed here for a purpose I don’t even fully understand yet.”
I’ll be the first to admit, it’s easy to feel blessed when you’re on vacation or eating a really good taco. It’s a lot harder to feel that way when the car is making a weird “clunk-clunk” sound or the “To-Do” list is three pages long.
Reframing Daily Mishaps as Grace Training
But that’s where the humor comes in. I’ve started looking at my mishaps as “Grace Training.”
Embracing the Everyday Lessons
- Misplaced keys for the third time today? That’s just God giving me an extra five minutes to breathe before I head out.
- Spilled coffee on my favorite white shirt? Well, maybe I needed a more colorful wardrobe anyway.
If I relied on luck, I’d be constantly anxious about when my “streak” would run out. But because I rely on grace, I know the supply is infinite. I’m not playing a game of chance; I’m living a life of provision.
Letting Go of the Heavy Lifting
So, if you see me glowing, or if you see me finally getting my life together (or at least pretending to), just know it’s not because I found a four-leaf clover. It’s because I’ve stopped trying to carry the weight of the world on my own shoulders and started letting God handle the heavy lifting.
I’m messy, I’m human, I’m probably going to forget what I walked into this room for in about ten seconds—but I am deeply, truly favored.
I’ll always say it: I’m not lucky, I’m blessed. Everything I have—the big wins and the tiny miracles—is because of His grace.
Stay blessed (and keep laughing),
Tina

Blessing is definitely a better way to frame things.
I stopped at a green light once and a friend with me said; “the light is green”, just then a tractor trailer truck ran the light. All three of us in the car sat there stunned as we realized we would have been t-boned and my friends on the passenger side most likely would have been killed instantly. Something was watching over us that day.
I had a few other experiences like that as well, so truly feel blessed and watched over.
Yes! Life itself is a blessing. We are blessed to be exploring the world in the human form. Beautiful reflection. 💕
Beautiful imagery 💐
😊
What a refreshing and heartfelt reflection. 🌿
I really enjoyed how you turned something as simple as daily “lucky moments” into a deeper conversation about grace, perspective, and gratitude. The tone is so relatable—light, humorous, and honest—yet it gently carries a powerful message underneath.
