As an adventurist and a self-proclaimed fitness enthusiast, I’ve always been thrilled by the rush of adrenaline that races bring. And today, I am incredibly excited to share with you the upcoming races that will be happening in our beautiful Southern California, specifically in Los Angeles, Hollywood, Riverside, San Bernardino, downtown Los Angeles, Melrose, and San Pedro. So, let’s dive right in!
Major Marathons and Iconic City Runs
Southern California offers some of the most prestigious courses in the world, blending urban scenery with athletic challenge.
Los Angeles Marathon: The Stadium to the Stars
Known as the “Stadium to the Stars”, this race is scheduled for November. Starting at Dodger Stadium and ending in Santa Monica, the course covers some great spots in LA, including Chinatown, Little Tokyo, and Echo Park.
Hollywood Half Marathon: A Glamorous Course
This glamorous race, scheduled for December, takes you through the heart of Hollywood. Runners will pass famous landmarks like the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Dolby Theatre, and the TCL Chinese Theatre.
Inland Empire and Scenic Neighborhood Races
Beyond the coast, the inland areas and historic districts offer unique atmospheres and family-friendly environments.
Riverside Citrus Classic
If you’re up for a fun, family-friendly event, this one’s for you. It’s due in October and includes 5K, 15K, and 50K bike rides, all while enjoying the beautiful citrus and avocado groves of Riverside.
San Bernardino Sunset Strip Half Marathon
This race, planned for early November, offers a unique experience of running at sunset. The course takes you through the historic downtown district with breathtaking views of the San Bernardino Mountains.
Downtown LA Running Festival
This festival promises an exciting day filled with a 5K, a 10K, and a half marathon race. Scheduled for late November, it’s a great way to explore downtown LA, featuring landmarks such as the Staples Center and LA Live.
Coastal and Boutique District Runs
For those who prefer stylish streets or ocean breezes, these late-year races are perfect for set goals.
Melrose 5K: Stylish and Fast
Happening in mid-October, this race offers a wonderful opportunity to run through one of LA’s most stylish districts. The course is flat and fast, making it perfect for runners of all levels.
San Pedro Bay 10K: Pacific Ocean Views
This race, set for early December, is truly a scenic one. It takes runners along the beautiful coastline of San Pedro with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.
Set Your Goals for 2026
