What’s your dream job?
Have you ever held a dream so dear, only to find out later that you’re destined for something else? That’s exactly what happened to me. My name is Tina, and I’m an LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) now. But would you believe if I told you that my dream job was to be a lawyer?
A Childhood Fascinated by Justice
Growing up, I was fascinated by the world of law. The idea of defending the innocent and bringing justice to the wronged made my heart flutter. I dreamt of wearing the black robe, standing in the court, arguing cases, and making a difference. But as they say, life always has its own plans.
The Discovery of a Newfound Calling
As I grew older, I realised that my passion was not merely confined to fighting for justice. There was something else that caught my interest more profoundly – caring for people.
Caring for People in Vulnerable Moments
The idea of healing, providing comfort, and supporting people in their most vulnerable moments was something that resonated deeply within me.
The Difficult Transition to Nursing School
The decision wasn’t easy. I was torn between my childhood dream and this newfound calling. However, after a period of introspection, I decided to tread along the path less travelled. I enrolled myself in nursing school, leaving behind the dream of law school.
The Journey to Becoming an LVN
Transitioning from law to nursing wasn’t simple. The subjects were entirely different, and so were the skills required.
Determination and Diligent Study
But my determination to achieve my new dream job kept me going. I studied diligently, trained hard, and eventually, I became an LVN. Now, as I look back, I don’t regret my decision. On the contrary, I feel proud. I feel proud because I had the courage to follow my heart and pursue a career that fulfils me.
Finding Passion in the Hospital Room
Being an LVN is not just a job for me; it’s my passion. It’s a responsibility that I carry with grace. Seeing my patients recover, bringing a smile to their faces, and being there for them in their darkest hours – it’s more rewarding than anything else.
Healing Hearts vs. Winning Cases
So, what’s my dream job? It’s not being a lawyer, but being a nurse, an LVN to be precise. For me, happiness lies not in the courtroom but in the hospital room, not in arguments but in the comfort I can provide, not in winning cases but in healing hearts.
It is Never Too Late to Follow Your Passion
In conclusion, your dream job is not always about what you’ve planned for years. Sometimes, it’s about what makes you feel complete. It’s about following your heart and finding satisfaction in what you do.
My dream job found me when I least expected it, and I couldn’t be happier. Remember, it’s never too late to change your path and follow your passion. This is my story. What’s yours? What’s your dream job?
