3 Pet Peeves

Name your top three pet peeves.

Hey there, friends! It’s your girl, Tina, back again with another installment of “Stories from Tina.” Today, I’m going to share with you my top 3 pet peeves – things that just really grind my gears and make me want to pull my hair out (or maybe yours!).

Now, before we dive in, I want you to know that I’m not just some grumpy old lady yelling at clouds. I like to think I’m a pretty easygoing person overall. But there are certain things that, no matter how much I try to let them roll off my back, they just really get under my skin. And I have a feeling I’m not alone in this.

So, without further ado, let’s jump right in. Here are my top 3 pet peeves:

1. People who walk suuuuper slow in the middle of the sidewalk.

Okay, look. I get it. Sometimes we all just need to slow down and smell the roses. But when I’m power-walking to get to work on time, or trying to run my errands quickly, there’s nothing more infuriating than getting stuck behind someone who is meandering along at a glacial pace – usually two or three people wide, blocking the entire sidewalk so you can’t even get around them.

And it’s not just on the sidewalk, either. Oh no, these painfully slow walkers will also take over entire grocery store aisles, museum exhibits, you name it. It’s like they have no sense of spatial awareness whatsoever! I just want to kindly (or not so kindly) tap them on the shoulder and say, “Excuse me, would you mind terribly speeding it up a bit? Some of us have places to be!”

The Sidewalk Struggle: Spatial Awareness and Power-Walking

But of course, I never do that. I just end up huffing and puffing and angrily speed-walking around them, muttering under my breath the whole time. It’s not my proudest moment, but hey, we all have our triggers, right?

2. People who don’t use their turn signals.

Ugh, this one makes my blood boil. Is it really that hard to just flick that little lever on your steering wheel before you change lanes or make a turn? I swear, some drivers act like turn signals are an optional accessory, like fuzzy dice or a “Baby on Board” sign.

And it’s not just on the highway, either. I see it all the time in parking lots, in neighborhoods, even in my own driveway sometimes! Someone will just randomly start veering into my lane or cutting across traffic without any warning, and I’m left slamming on my brakes and cursing under my breath. (Or sometimes not so under my breath, if I’m being honest.)

Driving Etiquette: Turn Signals Are Not Optional

Look, I get that life is busy and we’re all in a hurry these days. But using your turn signal takes like, two seconds. It’s a simple courtesy to the other drivers around you, so you don’t accidentally cause an accident. Plus, it makes you look like you actually know how to operate a motor vehicle, which is always a plus in my book.

3. People who don’t clean up after their dogs.

Okay, I’m just going to say it: if your dog does its business on the sidewalk or in someone’s yard, you need to pick it up. Period. End of story. There’s no excuse for leaving those little (or not-so-little) piles of doggy doo-doo for someone else to step in.

I mean, come on, folks. It’s not that hard to carry a few plastic bags with you when you take Fido for a walk. And even if you forget the bags, you can always use a leaf or a stick to scoop it up. But leaving it there is just plain rude and inconsiderate.

The Sidewalk Minefield: Why Cleaning Up After Your Pet Matters

I’ll never understand the mindset of these dog owners who think the world is their dog’s personal toilet. Do they think the poop fairies are going to come along and magically make it disappear? Or do they just not care that they’re creating a minefield for the rest of us to navigate?

Either way, it drives me absolutely bonkers. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been out for a nice, leisurely stroll only to have my day ruined by stepping in a big ol’ pile of dog poop. Talk about a mood killer!

Final Thoughts: Banding Together Against Annoyances

So there you have it, folks – my top 3 pet peeves. I know I’m not alone in these frustrations, though, and I bet a lot of you can probably relate. After all, we’re all just trying to navigate this crazy world, and sometimes the little things can really get under our skin.

But hey, at least we can commiserate together, right? And who knows, maybe if we all band together and start politely (or not-so-politely) calling out these pet peeve offenders, we can make the world a slightly less annoying place. One slow walker, turn signal-less driver, and dog poop-leaving owner at a time.

What do you think? Do any of these pet peeves hit home for you? Or do you have your own personal irritations that drive you up the wall? I’d love to hear all about them! Drop me a comment and let’s bond over our shared disdain for the little things that make life just a little bit harder.

Until next time, my friends. Stay sane, stay caffeinated, and keep on keeping on!

Tina out.
