Hey there, friends! It’s your girl, Tina, back with another blog post. And today, I’ve got something a little different in store for you – a good old-fashioned poem.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Tina? Writing poetry? This I’ve gotta see.” And let me tell you, I don’t blame you one bit. Poetry and I have had a, shall we say, complicated relationship over the years.
You see, I’ve always been more of a prose kind of gal – give me a juicy novel or a witty, well-crafted essay any day. But every now and then, a certain turn of phrase or poetic sentiment just speaks to me on a deep, visceral level. And when that happens, well, the poet in me just can’t help but come out to play.
And that’s exactly what’s happening today, my friends. You see, there’s this saying that I’ve always absolutely adored, one that I find myself returning to time and time again, both in times of triumph and in times of trial. And I’ve decided that it’s high time I put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard, as it were) and pay tribute to this little nugget of wisdom in the form of a poem.
So, without further ado, I present to you: “A Poem for the Ages (Or At Least, My Favorite Saying)”:
“This too shall pass.”
Simple words, yet oh-so-profound,
A mantra to carry me through,
When the world seems to be crashing down.
In moments of joy and elation,
A gentle reminder to savor each day,
For even the brightest of times,
Will eventually fade away.
And in the depths of despair and sorrow,
When the future seems bleak and unkind,
These words offer a glimmer of hope,
A promise that peace I will find.
“This too shall pass.”
A timeless truth, etched in my heart,
A touchstone to guide me through,
Whatever life may bring, however it may start.
For in the grand scheme of things,
Nothing is permanent, nothing will last.
The highs and the lows, the triumphs and woes,
They too, my friends, shall pass.
So when the storms of life start to brew,
And the path ahead seems unclear,
I’ll hold tight to these words, my faithful companions,
And know that brighter days are near.
Because no matter what challenges I face,
No matter how deep the pain may be,
This too shall pass, this too shall pass,
A mantra to set my spirit free.
So there you have it, friends – my humble tribute to the wise words that have carried me through thick and thin. And you know what? I have to say, putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and crafting this little poem has been an absolute delight.
There’s just something so cathartic and empowering about taking a sentiment that’s so deeply meaningful to you and expressing it through the medium of poetry. It’s like taking a piece of your heart and your soul and transforming it into something tangible and beautiful.
And let’s be real, we could all use a little more poetry in our lives, don’t you think? In a world that’s so often dominated by the hustle and bustle of our day-to-day routines, it’s important to take a step back and embrace the power of language, of rhythm, of metaphor. It’s a way of tapping into the deeper wells of our emotions and our experiences, of finding beauty and meaning in the most unexpected places.
Now, I know that not everyone is as enamored with poetry as I am. I get it – it can be a bit of an acquired taste. But I truly believe that there’s a poem out there for everyone, just waiting to be discovered. You just have to be open to letting the words wash over you, to allowing them to speak to your heart and your soul in their own unique way.
And who knows, maybe this little poem of mine will be the one to spark that poetic flame within you. Maybe it’ll be the touchstone that helps you rediscover the power of language and the magic of self-expression. Or maybe it’ll just be a fun little diversion, a chance to step out of the everyday and into a world of rhyme and rhythm.
Either way, I hope you’ve enjoyed this little foray into the world of poetry. And if you’re feeling inspired, I’d love to hear your thoughts and maybe even see some of your own poetic creations. After all, the more the merrier, right?
Alright, I think that’s enough rambling for now. Time for me to go find a nice, cozy spot to curl up and let the words flow. Catch you later, friends!
Tina
