Hello there, lovely people! It’s Tina here, back with another personal account that I hope will inspire you on your own creative journeys. Today, we’ll be diving into some introspective questions that I’ve been pondering lately, all centered around creativity and personal growth.
Firstly, let’s talk about fears and obstacles. My major creative fear has always been the fear of criticism. This fear held me back for the longest time, making me second-guess every idea and preventing me from sharing my work. How am I overcoming this? Well, I’ve realized that criticism, whether positive or negative, is an essential part of growth. I’m learning to embrace it, using it as an opportunity to improve and refine my work. I’ve also found solace in the wise words of Aristotle, “Criticism is something we can avoid easily by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing.” We certainly don’t want that, do we?
Moving on to my passions and interests, they’re quite diverse. From the tranquil art of painting, the rhythmic beauty of dance, to the intellectual thrill of philosophical discussions, my interests vary widely. The challenge, however, lies in incorporating these into my work or personal life. In an effort to do so, I’ve started painting small canvases during my downtime, replicating scenes from my favorite books or moments from my life. This practice not only relaxes me but also fuels my creative side. As for dance, I’ve started taking short breaks during my workday to groove to my favorite tunes. It’s an amazing stress-buster and rejuvenates my mind. And for philosophy? Well, I’ve started a podcast where I engage in stimulating philosophical discussions with interesting guests.
As for a small creative project, I recently decided to design and paint a set of unique, personalized bookmarks. To make it unique to my personal style, I painted each one with a different theme that resonates with me – from serene landscapes to my favorite literary quotes. It was a small yet fulfilling project that not only catered to my love for painting but also served a practical purpose.
Lastly, expanding my creative skills and knowledge is an ongoing journey. I believe in the power of continuous learning and experimentation. Currently, I am learning digital art. It’s a different medium, a whole new world, and a refreshing change from traditional painting. It’s challenging, for sure, but it’s helping me explore new dimensions of creativity.
So, that’s it for today, folks! Remember, creativity is a wild mind and a disciplined eye. Don’t let fears hinder your creative journey, welcome criticism, incorporate your passions into your life, don’t hesitate to undertake small creative endeavors, and never stop learning. Keep creating, keep growing!
Signing off,
Tina
